Puerto Galera Weather is Tropical Paradise

Have you enjoyed the Puerto Galera weather yet?

It is indeed fantastic. Sitting in one of the many Puerto Galera resorts, it feels like tropical paradise to me. While the humidity can take some getting used to, there is often a cool breeze to make it easier. Even when I’m stinkin’ hot and covered in sweat (like after a workout!), I love it here. It feels more real; a huge improvement on the air-conditioned offices, cars and trains of the Western world.

To talk about Puerto Galera weather, it makes sense to have a look at the terrain.

Puerto Galera is covered in very rugged terrain. It has both extremes – white sandy beaches and mountainous regions. Inland, a number of rivers and creeks criss-cross make their way through the jungle. There is a marvellous waterfall which is a short motorbike ride from Muelle Pier, one of the main piers in Puerto Galera.

The average annual humidity in Puerto Galera is 84.6%, so make sure you being a few spare shirts as you’ll sweat A LOT. But don’t worry, there is scuba diving action and a variety of beaches to wash yourself off in. One great Puerto Galera beach resort is Badladz. It’s a great place a holiday, as it lies on a beach that could be considered private. While there are other houses around, there are no other resorts so you have the place to yourself.

Day to day, the weather of Puerto Galera is fairly consistent. Each morning, I leave my room around 6am and spend some enjoying the view. Most of the time, the sky is blue with few clouds to be seen. Apart from a slight breeze, there is rarely any wind. Occasionally, a storm will blow through but it doesn’t last long here as Puerto Galera bay is a typhoon-safe harbor. It’s protected on all sides by islands, so one of the advantages of staying here is that you don’t have to worry about typhoons.

That’s not to say that typhoons don’t come here at all, but that their ferocity is lessened by a large degree. During my first week in Puerto Galera, a typhoon arrived but apart from a lot of rain, nothing much happened. This means you can relax in safety and comfort, knowing that there is extremely little typhoon risk.

As you can see, the weather in Puerto Galera is nothing short of spectacular. Hot days, cool nights and all the exciting activities you could ask for.
